Domestic Requirements
BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY IN MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCE (4–YEAR DEGREE)

a. LEVEL 100: MORNING AND EVENING SESSIONS

I. West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination
(WASSCE)

Applicants with a minimum grade of C6 or better in three (3) core subjects, i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three (3) elective subjects namely Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Elective Mathematics will be admitted to level 100 of the BTech Medical Laboratory Science Programme.

II. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)

Applicants with a minimum grade of D or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three (3) elective subjects namely Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Elective Mathematics, will be admitted to Level 100 of the BTech Medical Laboratory Science Programme.

III. General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level

Applicants with passes in three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better) in addition to having credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English, Mathematics and a Science subject will be admitted to level 100 of the
BTech Medical Laboratory Science Programme.



b. ADMISSION TO LEVEL 200: EVENING SESSION


I. Higher National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology

Applicants with the 3-year Higher National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology (HND SLT) at least Second Class Lower from a recognised institution may be considered for admission to level 200 (Evening Session) of the BTech Medical Laboratory Science Programme after passing an interview.



c. ADMISSION TO LEVEL 300: WEEKEND SESSION

I. Bachelor of Technology Science Laboratory Technology

Applicants with a Bachelor of Technology, Science Laboratory Technology with at least Second Class Lower from the Accra Technical University and other recognised institutions with working experience in the health sector, may be considered for admission to level 300 of the BTech Medical Laboratory Science programme after passing an interview and bridging course examination.



II. Bachelor of Science Qualifications

Applicants with a 4-year Bachelor of Science in either Biological Science, Biochemistry, Applied Biology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Human Biology, Laboratory Technology or other life sciences qualification at least Second Class Lower from a recognised institution with working experience in the health sector, may be considered for admission to level 300 of the BTech Medical Laboratory Science programme after passing an interview and bridging course examination.



III. Bachelor of Technology Science Laboratory Technology (Clinical Biochemistry Option)
Applicants with a Bachelor of Technology in Science Laboratory Technology (Clinical Biochemistry Option) from Accra Technical University and other recognised institutions, with a minimum of 2 years of working experience in the health sector, may be considered for admission to level 300 of the BTech. The Medical Laboratory Science programme is offered after passing an interview and a bridging course examination.a



IV. Higher National Diploma / Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology

Applicants with a 3-year Higher National Diploma or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) with at least Second Class Lower from a recognised institution accredited by the Allied Health Professions Council with working experience in the health sector,
may be considered for admission to level 300 of the BTech Medical Laboratory Science Programme after passing an interview and bridging course examination.
International Requirements
