Programme Overview
Our Information and Communication Technology (ICT) department provides a solid grounding in the information technology field. The field of ICT is a cutting-edge program grounded in courses that are not just theoretical, but also extremely practical in nature. Students are constantly exposed to the latest technology and trends in class, making them immediately employable after graduation. Our courses are designed to provide graduates with the necessary tools and skills to succeed in today’s technology-driven world.
Graduates have highly marketable skills and are prepared for careers in any of today’s industries that use Information Technology. The ICT department works to help students develop real-life employable skills through hands-on experience while providing students access to emerging technologies. The integrated nature of the educational experience makes students very solid in critical thinking and problem solving.

They are also effective communicators able to interact with clients, co-workers and managers. Information Technologists help people use computing technologies effectively. ICT does not focus on a single domain, but instead focuses on the selection, integration and deployment of computers and technology throughout society in the areas of computer application development, web/mobile application development, and game/simulation development.
Domestic Requirements
The general requirements for admission of WASSCE, SSSCE and GBCE candidates to first-degree programmes are three (3) credit passes in three core subjects and three (3) credit passes in three relevant elective subjects.
i. SSSCE Candidates: Credit Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.
ii. WASSCE Candidates: Credit Passes (Al-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.
iii. GBCE Candidates: Credit Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus three (3) relevant elective subjects
i. SSSCE Candidates: Credit Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.
ii. WASSCE Candidates: Credit Passes (Al-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.
iii. GBCE Candidates: Credit Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus three (3) relevant elective subjects
International Requirements
All foreign qualifications should be referred to the National Accreditation Board (NAB) for determination of equivalences and eligibility for admission to tertiary institutions in Ghana National Accreditation Board Act, 2007 [Act 744 (2(2)]
It should be noted that the American SAT, TOEFL etc, cannot in themselves be acceptable as entry qualifications into Ghanaian tertiary educational institutions.
Pursuant to the approved minimum entry requirements
Please note the slight amendments to the admission requirements of the various Diploma-awarding institutions
All public and private accredited tertiary education institutions are required in their advertisement for application for admission to indicate the approved minimum admission requirements to guide prospective applicants
When in doubt, prospective applicants are advised to check from the National Accreditation Board whether the institution they intend to apply to and the programme they intend to pursue are duly accredited
Any person, who disregards the admission policy and the advice herein, does so at their own risk.
Note:The public, especially, institutions, parents and students are hereby advised to take note and adhere to the above stated requirements. Non-compliance will lead to the withdrawal of unqualified students.
