West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)

Compulsory Subjects – Grade C6 or better in three (3) core subjects (English, Mathematics,

Integrated Science) and Grade C6 or better in 3 elective subjects in General Science (Elective Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry). For non-science students, Grade C6 or better in elective mathematics and/or elective ICT is required.



II. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)

Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE): Compulsory Subjects – Grade D or better in three (3) core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated Science) and Grade
D or better in 3 elective subjects in General Science (Elective Mathematics, Biology,
Physics and Chemistry). For non-science students, a Grade D or better in the Elective
Mathematics and/or elective ICT is required.



III. General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level

Applicants must have Credit Passes (6) or better in at least five (5) Subjects (including
English Language, Core Mathematics and a Science Subject, and two (2) Passes
at the GCE Advanced Level. A pass in General Paper would be an advantage.



IV. Higher National Diploma

A Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate in a Science laboratory Technology, biological
engineering or Electrical Engineering, or Telecommunication Engineering, or
Computer Engineering with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division would be
admitted to the Third Year.



V. Other Applicants

• Technician Certificate in Computer Science or Information
Technology from a recognised higher institution plus GCE ‘O’ Level/SSSCE/WASSCE
credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and Science.

• City and Guilds Certificate or Diploma in Information Technology
or Data Processing

• Technician Certificate with credit passes

• Technician Diploma with credit passes

• Advance Diploma with credit passes

• EET I and EET II Certificates

• A Certificate in Computer Science or Information Technology forms
a recognised higher institution.

• A Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology forms a recognised
higher institution



VI. Technician Applicants

• Four-year certificate ‘A’.
OR

• Three-year Post-Secondary Teacher’s Certificate.

• Four (4) GCE ‘O’ Level credits or four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes
including English language and Mathematics.

• At least a minimum of three (3) years teaching experience.
