Programme Overview
Domestic Requirements
i. Applicants with a Bachelor's degree with a First Class or Second Class
(Upper Division) or Postgraduate Diploma in Petroleum Engineering or its
equivalent from a recognized University.
ii. Applicants with any Bachelor's degree with a Frist Class or Second Class
(Upper Division) or Postgraduate Diploma in Engineering or its equivalent
from a recognized university WITH Minimum of Three years' oil and gas
work experience
iii. Applicants with any Bachelor's degree in Sciences with a First Class or
Second Class (Upper Division) OR Postgraduate Diploma such as in
Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics or its equivalent from a recognized
university WITH Minimum of Four years' oil and gas work experience
Applicants with qualifications such as in (ii) & (iii) would be required to
take a written examination before admission and on selection will be
required to take introductory courses in petroleum engineering for
applicants in ii) and Both Engineering and introductory Petroleum
Engineering courses for applicants in (iii) as a bridging course within 6
months prior to commencement of the MPhil programme.
For all Applicants whose working language is not English must show that
they have good command of both spoken and written English. Wherever
necessary, arrangements will be made with the Department of Languages
(KNUST) for the acquisition of the necessary English language skills prior
to the commencement of the course. All Prospective applicants are to pass
a selection interview.
