Engineering from KNUST or any recognized institution. Candidates must
already be enrollled in the MPhil Petroleum Engineering Programme who
have CWA of 70 and above at the end of first year and can demonstrate the
ability to exercise independent critical thinking can apply to the
Departmental Board as candidates for the PhD programme.
Candidates without MPhil in Petroleum Engineering but have Master's
degree in other Engineering disciplines from KNUST or a recognized
institution will be enrollled into the MPhil in Petroleum Engineering so as
to take and pass relevant taught courses at the end of year before
consideration is given for entry into the PhD Petroleum Engineering
programme.
Candidates with Masters degrees in Science related disciplines such as in
Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics from KNUST or any other recognized
university and have a proven minimum of 5 years' relevant oil and gas
Upstream Technical industrial experience will be considered but will enrolll
into the MPhil Petroleum engineering programme to take and pass taught
courses before consideration for entry into the PhD programme at the end
of year 1.All categories of candidates shall pass an interview conducted by
the department. Based on recommendation from the interview panel, some
category of successful applicants may be required to audit relevant courses
at the master's level as prescribed by the Departmental Board.
