Admission to Level 100
A WASSCE/SSSCE candidate is considered eligible for admission if he or she passes all three core subjects, namely English, Integrated Science, and Mathematics, with a minimum credit of C6 – WASSCE or D – SSSCE, as well as any three elective subjects from the Sciences, General Arts, or Home Economics. Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and/or Mathematics as electives will be advantageous. Successful holders of the Senior High School Certificate (WASSCE), Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSCE), or its equivalent will enter at Level 100.
GCE ‘A’ level candidates are considered qualified for admission if they have passes in three (3) subjects with grades ranging from ‘C’ for Science and Arts subjects to ‘A’ for General Paper. Successful applicants will begin the program at Level 100.
Applicants who hold certificates such as Community Health Nursing, Nursing Assistant Public Health, and Nurse Assistant Clinical (NAP/ NAC/HAC) with WASSSCE or SSSCE Subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and Science, as well as passing the mature student entrance examination and an interview.
Professionals with a diploma in Midwifery, Community Health, or Mental Health Nursing who meet the basic University entry requirements may apply for admission. To be admitted to the BSc Nursing programme, candidates must have an active PIN from Ghana’s Nursing and Midwifery Council (N&MC).
Admission to Level 200
Should an applicant hold a certificate under Nurse Assistant Clinical or Health Assistant Clinical (NAC/HAC) and a top-up from any approved tertiary university, such applicant will be admitted to Level 200.
Admission to Level 300
Professionals with a Nursing Diploma who meet the minimum University admission requirements may apply for admission. To be admitted to the BSc Nursing programme, candidates must have an active PIN from Ghana’s Nursing and Midwifery Council (N&MC). The applicant is eligible to begin the program at Level 300.
Successful applicants with a diploma in nursing from a recognized university or its equivalent will begin the program at Level 300.
**Foreign Professionals with diplomas in Nursing, Midwifery, Community Health, and Mental Health Nursing who meet the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission’s basic University entry requirements would be entitled to apply for admission. To participate in clinical practicums, successful candidates must be indexed with Ghana’s Nursing and Midwifery Council (N&MC). These applicants will be admitted based on the translated certificate and the entry point specified above.
NB: All categories of applicants will be subjected to a selection examination/interview.
