Programme Overview
Domestic Requirements
Candidates must have a minimum of Second-Class Honors (Lower

Science in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or related degrees.
The Programme is an English-speaking graduate programme that will
involve faculties from the Department of Mathematics, KNUST, and partner
institutions to cover the curriculum. Therefore, the following are the
language requirements:
Credit passes in English language at O/L, WAEC/SSSCE West African
School Certificate Examinations or at the baccalaureate, or Candidates from
non-Anglophone countries must have an internationally recognized
Certificate of Proficiency in the English Language (TOEFL or British
Council, IELTS) with above average score e.g. TOEFL (75% or above).
Candidates without this qualification will take a two-month university
programme before the programme commences each year.
The lack of proficiency in English would not constitute a determinant
criterion against the selection of a candidate. Prior to arriving in KNUST,
the Mathematics Department will facilitate the attendance of an intensive
English language training programme at KNUST for Non-English-speaking
participants
