Domestic Requirements
Category A:
Master's Degree Holders

Candidates with research Masters, (i.e., MSc/MPhil who have conducted one full year research) in Statistics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics or related quantitative discipline, can be admitted directly into the PhD programme.

Category B
Non-Research Master's Degree Holders

Exception is given to non-research Master’s degree holders with the technical background, having CGPA of 3.5 or better, grade C or better in Research Methods. Such exceptional candidates can be admitted directly into the PhD programme.

Category C:
Other Master's Degree Holders

Candidates with non-mathematical/statistical master's degree such as Economics, Sociology, Health, Agriculture, Geography etc. would be admitted into the doctorial degree for four years. The first year would be a preparatory programme and the subsequent 3 years for research. Only Candidates with a B or CGPA of 3.0 or better will be admitted into the Preparatory programme.
