Programme Overview
The Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) is an advanced research programme, considered an intermediate degree between post-graduate and doctorate, and is a qualification in its own right. This programme is available to any qualified applicants with competencies and readiness to engage in research for involvement in Christian ministry and theological education.
Domestic Requirements
A Master’s degree in Theology/Religions/related fields with a grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.00 scale or equivalent.
An applicant with a 3rd Class Division in Master’s degree, employed in program-related fields, with relevant work experience, and demonstrating the capacity to cope with the program may be considered for admission in exceptional cases. Such applicants will be required to write and pass a selection examination and an interview organized by the Graduate School.
Admission shall be subject to the selection procedures of the university including an interview.
International applicants must have qualifications equivalent to the above to be considered for admission. Their results must also be translated into English and they should be able to read and write in English.
An M.Phil. Candidate can apply to upgrade from M.Phil. to the Ph.D. program and be admitted in the third semester of the Ph.D. program subject to successful completion of the course work and the approval of the Graduate Studies Committee.
