he Bachelor of Science in Design programme is an inspiring, rigorous and practical curriculum that offers students the unique opportunity to use creativity and imagination to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts. Currently, few tertiary institutions in the country run a comprehensive academic curriculum in Landscape Design.The B.Sc. Landscape Design students will undertake the same courses in the foundation level with other students in the B.Sc. Interior Design, Graphic Design and Fashion Design programmes. The foundation of the programme introduces students to the multi-disciplinary fundamentals of design across different facets of design, such as techniques in form-making and conceptual visualisation. The design elements progressively increase in depth and complexity over the next three years with the introduction of the landscape specialisation area interwoven with research, skills and visualisation to enhance the academics with profession-specific requirements.Central University is committed to the highest standard of learning and teaching experience, educating students to become professional providers of services and products in the landscape design environment. The University, therefore, believes that mounting this programme will expand the career opportunities in the design industry for many Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SSSCE) and West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) graduates and their equivalent school leavers. The programme will also create opportunities for the large body of mature candidates desiring to improve their potentials to move up the professional ladder in the landscape design industry.​ The programme aims to offer an exceptional professional education programme that equips graduates with a repertoire of technical knowledge, creative skills and practical expertise to address design, development, construction and preservation of the built and natural environments and to ground the educational, research and service activities of the school within a global context.Objective: The objectives of the programme are to produce landscape design professionals equipped with the necessary technical skills and aesthetic aptitude: to develop the creative, technical and practical expertise needed to perform landscape tasks confidently and to participate successfully in an increasingly technological world; to build and apply a repertoire of knowledge, understanding and skills to designsustainable landscape features and products for a wide range of users; and to critique, evaluate and test their ideas and products and the works of others.
